Construction on the Coastal Link Trail

By August 5, 2020June 3rd, 2021No Comments

Maria Panopalis and Jayson Baxter from CTV report that work on the Coastal link trail has begun in St. Stephen. New infrastructure is underway in the border town in New Brunswick.

Darren Turner, the Chair Person for Coastal Link Trails Inc. says the trail would wind its way from St. Stephen to Saint John and connect the communities in between. It connects East Coast Greenway with the Trans Canada Trail making it the longest continuous linear trail in the world when completed.

It is proposed that it will take 10 years for full implementation, but Alan MacEarchern, the Mayor of St. Stephen, is encouraged by the process and says it is a “game changer for the area” and that it is exciting to be the international link between the trails.
